Project Right to Sight
The College of Health Professions and Sciences, College of Medicine, and College of Nursing are teaming up for a shared service experience supporting Project Right to Sight.
Project Right to Sight serves low income and uninsured persons throughout Central Florida, providing vision care services to at least 30 individuals each month who otherwise have difficulty accessing the care they need. Glasses are also provided to organizations doing missionary work abroad.
There will be both light-duty and heavier-duty tasks available so that volunteers can participate at a level that works for them. Volunteers will help:
-Sort donated glasses into different categories, including usable and unusable glasses, prescription glasses, reading glasses, and sunglasses.-Wash and dry reading glasses to then bag and label them according to their strength.-Prepare processed glasses for storage and distribution.
