UCF’s Faculty Cluster Initiative links faculty from all twelve of UCF’s colleges, and several institutes and centers, to solve today’s toughest challenges. The faculty are conducting cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research and education to make positive impacts across the globe and to promote UCF excellence.
The initial six clusters were launched in 2015 with 33 faculty positions and have since grown to nine clusters and two Centers with more than 180 joint and secondary joint faculty, each key to their success. Your generosity helps to fund impactful, research, supporting deserving students, advance academic excellence and expand innovative programming.
The University of Central Florida’s Violence Against Women (VAW) Faculty Research Cluster brings together interdisciplinary scholars, students, and community partners to advance research that can prevent violence and improve responses to those affected by domestic and dating violence, sexual violence, and stalking.
Donations and philanthropic gifts directed to the VAW Research Cluster Giving Fund directly support:
• Student research and training: Undergraduate and graduate research assistantships, mentorship, and hands-on training that prepare the next generation of leaders in violence prevention and response.
• Community-engaged research: Partnerships with community organizations and service providers to ensure research addresses real-world needs and that findings are translated into practical tools, training, and resources.
• Innovative interdisciplinary research: Research and evaluation that strengthens primary prevention efforts and identifies effective approaches to reducing violence.
• Improved systems and services: Evaluation of criminal justice, social service, and health care responses to violence to identify what works, where gaps remain, and how systems can better support survivors.
• Research translation and dissemination: Rapidly sharing research findings with practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders so that evidence can inform programs, policies, and practice.
