Rosen College of Hospitality Management professor Ron Logan passed away on August 30, 2022, leaving a legacy of innovation at UCF and in the theme park industry.
Logan was best known for his work with Disney and served as the Executive Vice President, Executive Producer, Walt Disney Entertainment Worldwide. He began teaching at Rosen College in 2003 and was crucial in orchestrating the Gregory Elias Entertainment Management Program and helped develop the college's theme park curriculum.
Logan started with The Walt Disney Company as a trumpet player in Disneyland. Throughout his career, he held positions such as Entertainment Director and Music Director before becoming an Executive Vice President. Logan’s role as the Leader of Entertainment made him responsible for creating, casting and producing all live entertainment for The Walt Disney Company. He became a Disney Legend in 2007, the highest honor in The Walt Disney Company.
In the classroom, Logan always shared stories from his career, each coming with a lesson that only someone with his wisdom could teach. After his death, students and faculty left sticky notes on his office door, reminiscing on these memories and honoring the impact on their professional and personal lives he left.
His legacy will continue as the students he inspired to dream move into their careers. Thank you for making a gift in memory of Ron Logan and supporting the students in the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management.
