The UCF Foundation Board of Directors has elected four new members. The new directors were unanimously elected by the full board and approved by the UCF Board of Trustees.
All four are UCF alumni and were selected for their community leadership and professional expertise. The new members will guide the foundation by supporting fundraising efforts, acting as financial and investment advisors, managing the foundation’s real estate and governing the business affairs of the foundation.
The additions to the UCF Foundation Board of Directors are:
John B. “Barry” Forbes ’86 is a senior vice president and market president for Brevard, Indian River, St Lucie and Martin Counties in Florida with Truist Financial. In this role he directly manages all commercial banking functions and staff in the marketplace and leads the retail efforts of the bank in the market. He and his wife Traci are not only UCF alumni, they are also UCF parents — both son Lucas and daughter Molli are graduates.

Chris Marlin ’94 is the president of Lennar International, the global engagement arm of Lennar Corporation, one of the leading homebuilders in the United States. Marlin also serves as Director of The Atlantic Council (Washington), a member of the Global Future Council on Cities at the World Economic Forum (Geneva), and as a member of the Intellectual Council of the Boao Forum for Asia (Beijing). At UCF, he served as SGA president (’93-’94) and an adjunct professor of Constitutional Law and is presently a Community Fellow at the UCF Center for Global Economics and Environmental Opportunity. He earned his JD from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta.

Marc McMurrin ’01 is executive director of the Ginsburg Family Foundation, focused on the foundation’s impact and philanthropic legacy. Prior, McMurrin served as executive director of operations for Northland Church and executive vice president for the Kiev Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. McMurrin has a business degree from UCF and is certified as a family philanthropy advisor.

Thomas McNamara ’88 is a third-generation builder and the president of Southern Development & Construction, Inc., a premier Central Florida heavy civil construction and development company. McNamara is also the president of Mud Hole Custom Tackle, Inc., the world’s largest supplier of fishing tackle crafting goods, and CEO of American Tackle Company International, Inc., a manufacturer of fishing rod components in the United States with offices in Asia and Europe. While At UCF, he was active in the LXA fraternity and met his wife Stacey ’89. He was on the UCF Athletics Association and currently on the Athletic Director’s Cabinet. His daughters Erin and Megan will be attending UCF this fall.
