On March 2, UCF Opera will be embarking on a day trip to the Sarasota Opera House to watch Georges Bizet’s Carmen. Carmen, the seductive and enigmatic heroine of Bizet's opera, has enticed Corporal Don José who upends his life to be with her. When her interest turns to the charismatic bullfighter Escamillo, José's enraged jealousy leads to catastrophe. Opera-lovers and newcomers alike will bask in some of opera's most recognizable music!
The UCF Opera Board invites you to join us to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity to view Carmen in one of the finest venues for opera in the United States.
The mission of the UCF Opera Board is to support and promote the study and performance of opera at the University of Central Florida, while enhancing the general public’s awareness and appreciation of opera in Central Florida.
Cost to participate includes one ticket to Carmen, transportation, lunch, snack and refreshments. Proceeds go back to support UCF Opera. We also invite you to support a current UCF Opera student to attend. See below for package pricing.
