The Jason Seifer "Updog" Memorial Scholarship

The Jason Seifer "Updog" Memorial Scholarship is an annual, general, need-based scholarship that will provide promising UCF students with vital support, allowing them to concentrate more fully on their studies. The fund was established through a generous gift from Doximity. Additional donations are welcome and will support student scholarships.

Jason was a world class software engineer, renowned humorist, friend, and teacher to thousands. The Updog scholarship honors Jason's enduring sense of humor, and his commitment to UCF.

Jason Seifer

Jason Seifer was a software engineer at healthcare startup Doximity, mentor, podcaster, teacher, and titan of the Ruby community.

Thousands of aspiring programmers learned from the video series Jason produced prior to Doximity. His deadpan humor and wry wit brought levity to what could be a boring subject, and his passion for quality, sustainable code inspired software engineers lucky to have worked with him or learned from him.

Jason was unparalleled in three unique areas: pristine code, themed photo shoots, and groan-worthy puns.
